El Templo de Sol del siglo 11 de Modhera es uno de los mejores ejemplos de la época próspera de Gujarat durante el reino de la dinastía Solanki. El templo está dedicado al Dios del Sol quien está sobre una plataforma que tiene vista de un tanque hondo a que se accede con las escaleras de piedra. Los tallados en cada pulgada del edificio son intricados y detallados con muchas figuras y objetos naturales. Con un pozo de escalera y muchos templos alrededor de Shiva, Ganesha y Vishnu el templo de Sol es comparativamente pequeño. Apenas 80 kms. de Ahmedabad merece visitar.
