Nombrado por la madre del rey Marathi Shivaji, Rani Jijamata Udyan tiene el Zoo Mumbai. Los Jardines fueron establecidos en 1861. Tiene muchas raras y especies en vías de extinción de animales y pájaros. Los jardines tienen una gran variedad de árboles, algunos que de verdad son muy antiguos. Dentro de los jardines está el museo Albert que tiene diversos hallazgos arqueológicos locales entre los cuales hay un gran elefante de piedra en su entrada, que se encontró en 1864 en Gharapuri o la Isla Elephanta.
