Este memorial al poeta-santo Tiruvalluvar tiene forma de un carro del templo y es, de hecho, la réplica del carro del templo en Thiruvarur. Una estatua grande del santo ha sido instalado en los carros, que miden 33 m. Los 133 capítulos de su obra famosa Thirukkural han sido representado en bajorrelieve en las salas del carro. El auditorio en Valluvar Kottam es el más grande en Asia y tiene capacidad de casi 4000 personas. Es un memorial moderno al gran poeta quien representa la gloriosa cultura de los Tamils.
