Cheriyapally todavía preserva la anciana arquitectura de iglesia. La C.S.I. Iglesia Catedra construida acerca de 175 años es un monumento de la época de los ingleses. El Antiguo Seminario, Mar Thoma Seminario y el Vadavathoor Seminario mantienen las tradiciones sirias y romanas. La Ortodoxa Iglesia Siriana Malankara tiene su sede en Devakolam, Kottayam.
