Formerly known as Alhilal (land of the crescent moon), the palace was built in the early 1930s as a summer resort. Taragarh Palace is at the foot of the Dhauladhar Mountains at a height of 1000 meters with a magnificent view of snow-capped peaks. Now it is run as a heritage hotel in Taragarh.
