La Jama Masjid es la máas grande mezquita en Cachemira construido originalmente por el Sultan Sikandar en 1400 A.D. Luego fue añadido por su hijo. Pero la mezquita fue destruida en un fuego no una vez pero tres veces y cada vez fue reconstruido. Pero las masivas originales columnas hechas de la madera de pino asombrosamente eran salvadas del fuego y todavía están intactos y parecen como nuevas. La mezquita es tan grande que pueden caber 10,000 namazis a la vez.
