Fuerte St. George

Description:
El Fuerte St. George ocupa un lugar de orgullo y prominencia en Chennai. El East India Company de los ingleses bajo la directa supervisión de Francis Day y Andrew Cogon lo construyeron en 1640 AD. Este fuerte fue nombrado por el San Jorge, el santo patrón de Inglaterra. El fuerte tiene la Iglesia Santa María y el museo.
La Iglesia St. Mary es la más antigua iglesia anglicana en la India construida en 1680 y las tumbas en su patio son los más antiguos de los ingleses en la India.
