Bharat Mandir

Description:
Construido por el Adiguru Shankra Charya alrededor del 12º siglo, el Bharat Mandir está situado en el centro del antiguo pueblo sobre las orillas del Ganges. Una explicación detallada de este más antiguo templo de Rishikesh se dispone en el informe anciano de Kearkhand. El interior sanctum del templo tiene el ídolo del Señor Vishnu, tallado de un único 'Saligram'. En la interior canopía sobre el ídolo está el Shree Yantra instalado por Adi Shankraya Charya. El templo original fue destruido por el Tamur Lane en 1398 A.D. Se encontraron muchos estatuas, monedas, utensilios y otros cosas de importancia histórica en las recientes excavaciones en el recinto del templo.
