A 75 km al nor-oeste de Shimoga está Sagar que tiene el muy famoso templo Siddhi Vinayaka y el Templo Durga. Se cree que hay un pequeño pozo allí con un Sri Chakra debajo del Ganapathi Peetha. Sagar además tiene mucha fama por su Artesanía Gudigara que es el trabajo en marfil y sándalo.
El centro de capacitación de los artesanos dirigido por el Gobierno ofrece una vista de los artesanos maestros haciendo sus creaciones. La Tienda de la Sociedad Co-operativa Gudigara merece una visita.
