Un testimonio a la grandeza del pasado de los Holkars es el Rajwada o el Palacio Holkar, situado justo en el corazón de la ciudad. Construido con una perfecta mezcla de los tres estilos arquitecturales, el maratha, el mughal y el francés, este palacio tiene más de 200 años. Hoy nada más que la fachada del palacio es lo que se preserva ya que ha sido destruido tres veces por fuego en historia. El palacio de siete pisos era una combinación de pisos de piedra y madera. También era el único palacio con siete pisos en la India.
