Básicamente, ya que fue construida por los reinos hindúes para sus súbditos musulmanes, la mezquita es un sitio sagrado para ambos los hindúes y los musulmanes. Dentro hay tres mezquitas más la más importante son las huellas de los pies de la Profeta Mohammed que están dentro de la mezquita. Las tres mezquitas tienen muy bonitas cúpulas y la entera mezquita tiene la gran Naubat Khana o la sala de música.
