Manikaran es un pequeño pueblo a una distancia de alrededor de 45 kms desde Kullu. El sitio está lleno de riochuelos calientes que se creen que tienen propiedades curativas. Por eso miles de devotos toman el baño sagrado en estas aguas calientes. La agua es tan caliente que se puede hervir y cocinar arroz, lentillas y verduras en el agua. Según leyenda una vez Shiva y su esposa Parvati dieron un paseo por este sitio cuando su pendiente se cayó allí. Este dio el nombre al dicho sitio
