Este sitio montañoso popular en el estado de Mizoram está situado a unos 235 kms. de la ciudad capital Aizwal. Lunglei está en la parte sureña del estado de Mizoram. Abunda con la belleza natural y goza de un clima agradable por todo el año. Hay muchos sitios de interés turístico cerca de Lunglei.
Alrededor de 50 kms. desde Lunglei se encontraron una imagen tallada de Buda. Esta imagen ha sido tallada en piedra con dos figures bailando por los dos lados del Señor. Se cree que aunque estas imágenes fueran tallados con metal pertenecen a una época antigua cuando el Budismo tenía importancia incluso en sitios como Chittagong que está muy cerca.
