Fuerte de Lohagarh

Description:
Como su nombre, Lohagarh o el fuerte de hierro de verdad era un fuerte invencible del pasado. El fuerte concebido por Maharaja Surajmal, fundador de Bharatpur, fue construido en el siglo 18 en el medio de un bosque. La masiva estructura ha sobrevivido muchos ataques por los ingleses. Hay tres palacios dentro del fuerte, Kishori Mahal, Kothi khas y el Mahal khas que son espectaculares.
De los ocho imponentes torres del fuerte, se conservan algunos todavía. Entre los más importantes son el Jawahar y el Fateh burj, que fueron construidos por el Rey Surajmal para conmemorar sus victorias sobre los Mughals y los ingleses respectivamente. La ceremonia de coronación de los reyes Jat de Bharatpur también fue celebrada en Jawahar Burj.
