La anterior capital del Rey Krishnachandra, hoy día este pequeño pueblo tiene mucha fama por las bonitas muñecas de lodo y las cerámicas. Situada en las orillas del Río Jalangi, alrededor de 118 km norte de Kolkata, Krishnanagar todavía retiene su grandeza con el palacio real o el Raj Bari además de un bonito templo de Durga en este sito. Muchos de los cañones usados en la batalla de Plassey se puede ver todavía en el recinto del palacio real. Construido en el estilo arquitectural mughal este palacio real tiene tallados intrincados. Otra importante atracción es la iglesia Roman Catholic Church que es singular en su arquitectura y escultura. Dentro de la iglesia, la vida de Cristo ha sido representado en 27 oleos. El recinto tiene bonitas estatuas de madera escultadas por artistas italianos.
