El Santuario Kalakkadu

Description:
Situado a unos 47km desde Tirunelveli en una área de 223 km. cuad. en los Western Ghats, el santuario se extiende desde las colinas Papanasam hasta Kalkad. Alguna de la vida salvaje que se puede ver en este santuario es el Langur, Nilgiri Tahr, Sambar, el Perezoso, Gour, Elefante, Tigre, Ardilla Volante, Pantera, y Perro Salvaje etc. Además, una amplia gama de pájaros y reptiles también se puede ver. Se permite hacer treks con el anterior permiso de los ofícialas del Forest (Wildlife) Department. Se puede conseguir alojamiento en el Forest Rest House. La mejor época es desde setiembre hasta marzo.
