Fuerte Junagarh

Description:
Este fuerte fue construido entre 1588-1593 A.D. por Raja Rai Singh, un general en el ejército del emperador Mughal Akbar. El Suraj pol es la entrada principal a este fuerte. Los palacios están en el lado sur del fuerte y hay patios, balcones y ventanas.
El rasgo sobresaliente del fuerte Junagarh es la calidad excelente de tallado en piedra, el mejor en el mundo. El Chandra Mahal o el palacio de la luna es muy bonita con pinturas, espejos y paneles tallados en mármol. El phool mahal o el palacio de flores está decorado con cristales y espejos. El Karan mahal fue construido para conmemorar la victoria sobre el emperador Mughal, Aurangzeb. El Anup Mahal tiene fama por su pintura de hojas doradas.
