Aunque estén un poco lejos del uno al otro, estos dos sitios tiene mucha fama por los templos antiguos de Shiva. Mientras Jageshwar está a sólo 38 kms. de Almora con innumerables templos de Shiva y las leyendas que existen de éstos, Bageshwar está a unos 75 kms. de Almora. Bageshwar tiene fama por la confluencia de los Ríos, Sarayu y Gomti. El templo antiguo dedicado al Señor Shiva, construido por los reyes Katyuri atrae muchos peregrinos a este sitio, especialmente en enero en la ocasión religiosa de Makar Sankranti.
