Este bonito pequeño lago tiene un trasfondo místico mitológico. Alrededor de un kilómetro desde el Kedarnath, se tiene que hacer un pintoresco trek para llegar a este sitio. Según la épica del Mahabharata, este era el lago donde los Pandavas vinieron para saciar su sed y murieron uno por uno por la maldición de un yaksha. Era el mayor de ellos, Yudhishtir, quien dio las preguntas del Yaksha y así salvó las vidas de sus hermanos. Es este sitio desde donde los Pandavas ascendieron al cielo, y por eso este sitio tiene gran fama y es muy sagrado para los seguidores de la religión hindú.
