Colonia Santa Maria is situated right on Baga Beach, some 14 km from the capital city of Goa Panaji, Baga Beach, one of Goa's scenic northern resorts, is a more peaceful adjunct to Calangute which was one of the early discoveries of the hippy tourists of the 60s and 70s who first spread the word about Goa as a traveller's paradise.
