Description:
En medio de la antigua ciudad está el majestuoso palacio ciudad, anterior residencia de la familia real. Tiene una fina mezcla de arquitectura rajasthani y mughal. Los arcos curvados están apoyados por columnas de mármol gris-blanco decoradas con diseños florales en oro y piedras coloridas.
Dos elefantes de mármol guardan a la entrada. El palacio tiene un museo con una excelente colección de trajes rajasthani y una armería de los mughals y los rajputs, incluyendo espadas de distintas formas y tamaños. Algunas de ellas tienen piedras semi-preciosas y preciosas incrustados en oro. El palacio tiene una galería de arte con una excelente colección de pinturas miniaturas, alfombras y obras raras astronomicales en árabe, persa, latín y sánscrito adquirido por Sawai Jai Singh-II.
