El anciano y sagrado templo de Srisailam es de gran significado histórico y religioso. Situado en la orilla sur del río Krishna, sobre una colina que tiene altura de 457 metros, está el Templo Bhramarambha Mallikarjunaswamy uno de los 12 'Jyotirlingams' en la India. Allí están tres de los muy famosos Linga Kshetrams (Draksharamam y Nagarjunamo son los otros dos), también se lo conoce como "Sri Mallikharjunam" y "Sri Parvatham". Además el templo es el centro de Mahakali en la forma de Bhramaramba. El más único rasgo de este templo es que cualquier persona de cualquiera casta o religión puede tocar a la deidad y venerar allí.
