Se celebra el Ardh Kumbh después de cada seis años y el último Ardh Kumbha de este siglo acabó este año. Se dice que un baño sagrado en el río Ganges durante el Kumbh le da Mocha o Nirvana. La gente se acude allí en grandes cantidades para bañarse durante estos días sagrados. Allí hay santos, naga sadues, políticos casi todos están allí. La cuidad está llena de gente. Si uno visita a Haridwar durante el Ardh Kumbh es mejor evitar una visita a los ghats llenos. Cada vez hay reportajes de estampidas y varias facciones o Akharas de los sadues luchan con cada otro. Hay que asegurar su alojamiento muy en adelanto si se quiere hacer una visita durante el Kumbh.
