Estas dos ciudades pequeñas gemelas quedan a media hora de conducir de Amaravati. Achalpur, alias Ilichpur tiene mención en muchos manuscritos ancianos ya que eran un centro de comercio importante y tenía mucho negocio y cultura durante la época medieval. Este pequeño pueblo, ahora un pueblo anteriormente era la capital de los reyes Bahamani y luego el reinado de Itmadshahi la hizo de esta Achalpur en un centro vital cultural, educacional y de negocio. El Bavani, un teatro de drama, aunque en ruinas hoy día ofrece una visión en la rica cultura de este sitio.
La primera fábrica rural de textiles fue la fábrica Paratwada que todavía funciona. Fue establecido por los ingleses, quienes controlaron la administración de estos lugares para el Nizam de Hyderabad.
